Description
Cyperus longus produces dense clumps of foliage useful for adding height and disguising edging. Supplied bare-rooted.
Top tip: Will grow in any type of soil and from full shade to full sun. Wonderful addition for flower arranging foliage.
Flowers: July/August Grassy dark brown seed-heads that last into the Autumn.
Height of plant: 40-90cm from crown. .
Propagation: Divide at any time, separating the fibrous roots where new stems are growing.
How to plant: Plant into a 5lt or 10lt planting basket using heavy garden loam or Westland Aquatic Soil and place on a shelf in the pond. Fill the planting basket to a depth so that the crown of the plant is level with the rim. Hold the plant securely and fill in with soil all around the roots, pressing the soil down very firmly until the planting crate is almost filled to the brim. For aesthetic purposes, the soil can then be top dressed with no more than 1cm of pea gravel.
