£4.10

Erect stems with pretty, dense little fluffy golden yellow pompom flowers in between small compact green leaves.

Description

Tufted loosestrife provides a carpet of low-growing foliage supporting stems of fluffy, primrose-yellow flowers. Excellent ground cover for boggy and shady areas.

Top tip:  Best contained in a solid plant pot rather than a mesh baskets as the root tips will soon grow out through the mesh and into surrounding area.

Flowers:  June/September

Height of plant: 10-25cm from crown

Propagation: Separate young shoots to grow on from May to September.

How to plant:  Plant into a 5lt flower pot using heavy garden loam or Westland Aquatic Soil and place on a shelf in the pond.  Fill the container to a depth so when the  rooted stem at the base of the plant is firmed in, the soil level is with the rim. Hold the plant securely and fill in with soil all around the roots, pressing the soil down very firmly until the planting crate is almost filled to the brim.  For aesthetic purposes, the soil can then be top dressed with no more than 1cm of pea gravel.

Recommended planting depth:  The planting depth for this plant measured from soil surface to water surface and not including any gravel dressing is 5-20cm.
