Hesperantha (sometimes schizostylis) coccinea or Kaffir Lily provides brilliant autumn colour! A small cousin to the gladioli miniature.
Top tip: Really useful as a pretty cut flower at a time when there’s not much else in the garden.
Flowers: September – November
Propagation: Divide plants.
Soil conditions: Best planted directly into damp soil, but can be planted into a standard plant pot with the rim at the waterline.
Planting: Rich, consistently moist soil with plenty of organic content.
